Call for Papers

We welcome theoretical papers, particularly if they offer a thought-provoking interdisciplinary analysis; however, preference is given to empirical research, case studies, and field work having significant implications for development planning and policy. We also welcome short, incisive articles that present a personal point of view and relate experience with current development practices, policies or teaching, or which open a dialogue on important issues raised in previous issues of the CJDS.

Instructions to Authors

Manuscripts may be submitted in English or French. The CJDS prefers manuscripts that are in the range of 25–35 pages long (all material included) on 8½ × 11 inch paper. All text, notes, references, and appendix materials must be double-spaced and set in 12-point type and follow the current journal style. Tables may be single-spaced. A complete list of sources cited must be included; references must be listed alphabetically with full publication information and without any abbreviations. An abstract of 100 words or less should be included. The name, affiliation, and full contact details of the author(s) should be given on a separate page as articles are subjected to anonymous peer review.

Manuscripts will not be considered for publication if they have been previously published either in their entirety or, in the view of the CJDS, substantively. Papers that do not meet the submission guidelines described above will not be sent out for review.

Submissions in standard word processing file formats should be directed to the editorial office by email at cjds@uOttawa.ca.
